Pizza Inn, Inc. is a publicly traded company, listed on the NASDAQ exchange, under the symbol PZZI. Pizza Inn has offered franchises since 1963 and currently operates franchised restaurants in the Southeastern US and Internationally.
What does it cost to build a Pizza Inn restaurant?
The cost varies for each concept type, depending on the size and geographical location. Detailed information on this topic is provided in our Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD).
What is the franchisee fee?
This per unit fee varies by concept type: Buffet = $25,000; Express = $5,000.
What is the royalty fee?
An ongoing royalty fee of 4% of weekly gross sales for Buffet and Delivery/Carryout (Delco) and 5% of monthly gross sales for Express concepts.
What are the marketing and advertising fees?
New restaurants are required to pay an advertising deposit for local marketing. These monies are used for marketing for the grand opening of your Pizza Inn restaurant. The Pizza Inn Advertising Plan (PIAP) and Pizza Inn Express Fund (PIEF) fees are used towards developing, creating, and subsidizing marketing and promotional materials for franchisees.
If I don’t meet the financial criteria to become a franchisee, can I partner with someone who does?
Yes, you must supply us with an application and personal financial statement for each member of your potential franchise group.
Does Pizza Inn provide financing for restaurant development?
No, Pizza Inn does not provide financing. However, we will provide information on lending institutions willing to review financing with prospective franchisees.
What qualifications does Pizza Inn seek in its potential franchisees?
The minimum non-financial qualifications include previous success in business, supervisory and/or training experience, and the ability to work well with our organization and move forward with the project in a timely manner.

Do I have to work in my restaurant?
No, but we are not looking for absentee owners. If you have prior restaurant management experience, you may complete training to act as the general manager. If you are not planning to work in the restaurant, we will require you to hire an experienced manager to operate the restaurant.
What is a FDD?
Franchise Disclosure Document. This document explains in detail the franchised business, investment requirements, and our mutual rights and obligations in the franchise relationship. It also contains examples of the agreements you will sign to become a franchisee.
How much money can I make?
We encourage our prospective franchisees to conduct significant due diligence during the discovery process and contact existing franchisees with questions on marketing, finances, sales volumes, operations, etc. The amount of profit or loss is dependent on a number of factors, including the ability of the franchisee to manage the business, drive sales volume, and control operating costs. In addition, we disclose an Item 19 – Financial Representation in our FDD for the Buffet concept to aid in your due diligence of the franchise opportunity.
How do I know if a Pizza Inn franchise is right for me?
Like owning and running any small business, a Pizza Inn franchise is not for everyone. You must be willing to work long hours, be comfortable with such areas as personnel management, financial management, marketing, and business development. Having strong communication, motivation, and customer service skills is also very important in this business. For the right individual or entity, Pizza Inn can be a very rewarding business opportunity.
Does Pizza Inn provide demographic data for my potential development area?
Yes, although we rely in part on your knowledge of the area you wish to develop, we will provide you with demographics we believe may be helpful to you in your evaluation of those areas.
Who determines the location of my Pizza Inn restaurant?
You are responsible to select the site, we offer assistance and a representative of Pizza Inn must approve the location.
What kind of training requirements will be expected?
Before opening a restaurant, a franchisee must have approved managers in place. Buffet and Delco managers must complete the Management Training program conducted at our corporate headquarters in The Colony, TX (a suburb of Dallas) and in our restaurants in the Dallas area. The training combines hands-on operations and classroom information on the Pizza Inn restaurant concept. The total training time is approximately four weeks. Express restaurant management will be trained on-site at the non-traditional location in a 2-3 day program.
Will I receive opening assistance and ongoing support?
Yes, after signing the franchise agreement and paying the franchise fee, you will immediately begin receiving assistance from the Pizza Inn training and operations department. Prior to and upon opening, you will receive on-site assistance. Throughout the course of your business operation, you will receive continuous assistance from our operations department. Your assigned franchise business consultant will periodically visit your restaurant for on-site consultation and quality assurance evaluations. Your business consultant is also available at any time for consultation on any business matter you wish to discuss.
