In the Community

Unlike the big “corporate” chains, Pizza Inn is more like a collection of family–owned businesses. Families who live in the same communities where we work. That’s why our company has a long tradition of supporting community–based programs that focus on the needs of our neighborhood schools, churches, seniors and many other local care–giving organizations. Want to know more? Check with your local Pizza Inn for details, and ask us how you can get involved with programs happening in your area.

Great Pizza = Great Minds

The Science and Engineering Magnet High School, located in the Yvonne Ewell Townview Center in the Dallas Independent School District, has an enrollment of approximately 400 Townview3students. For the last three years, the school has been recognized as the number one school in the nation for the number of African American and Hispanic students earning grades of 3 or higher on the AP Calculus Exams. It was recognized in the 2005 Advanced Placement Report to the Nation as the world leader on the AP Calculus BC Exam in schools with a population under 500. It was also ranked number 6 in Newsweek magaziTownviewne's list of the top 100 high schools in the nation in the spring of 2005. The formula for this success is simple: a principal with a vision for excellence, a math team that includes three AP Calculus teachers who work tirelessly, and a group of students who choose to leave their home schools in the district and travel across town every day for the opportunity to attend a different kind of school.

Pizza Inn supports these star students by providing pizzas for those that attend the after school program. "We at Pizza inn understand that small investments in programs as successful Townview2as Townview's after-school Calculus Program pay huge dividends for the students," said Charlie Morrison, Interim CEO and President. "It's all about helping these children succeed".
